Generating starts from nothing but your words — you describe a scene and the model draws it. Editing starts from a picture you already have: upload it, say what should be different, and the model changes that part while leaving the rest alone. Both draw from the same credit balance, and both show their cost before you commit to a run.
Draft at 1K, which is the cheapest tier on every model, until the composition is what you wanted. Only then re-run that one prompt at 2K or 4K. Working this way costs a fraction of generating everything at full resolution, and it is why the resolution picker sits next to the prompt rather than buried in settings.
